Chips in the Middle.

Sometimes it's hard to tell but there's more to poker than Texas Holdem and that's what Chips in the Middle is about.  While the world probably needs another poker website about as much as it needs a hole in the head there's a surprising lack of information out there on many of the alternatives to Texas Holdem.

Chips in the Middle is here hoping to help those who are seeking to broaden their horizons.  Perhaps you're looking for the next "big thing", perhaps you've noticed NL Holdem games toughening up and are seeking greener pastures, or perhaps Holdem is just too stayed and you're looking for bigger action games.  There are many reasons why more and more people are trying out some of the other forms of poker and we're here to help.

Pot Limit Omaha

Pot Limit Omaha offers an exciting, all action, alternative to Texas Holdem.  A popular cash game in European card rooms for many years Pot Limit Omaha features a lot of action, many playable hands, some big swings and plenty of excitement.  On the plus side for the sharks it also tends to feature some horrendously bad play.  Pot Limit Omaha is featured by most of the large online card rooms and is currently the game of choice for some of the highest stakes cash games online.

In stark comparison to the volumes of information available on No Limit Texas Holdem there is comparatively little strategy advice available on Pot Limit Omaha and indeed on Omaha poker in general.  You can find out more about pot limit omaha in our articles section or discuss the game on the forum.

Omaha Hi/Lo

Omaha Hi/Lo or Omaha 8 or better as it is sometimes called is the other major variant of Omaha Poker.  The Hi/Lo version of the game is a split game with the pot shared between the best high hand and the best qualifying low hand.  Omaha Hi/Lo is most commonly played in limit format and is one of the more popular side games after Texas Holdem in the US.

Well.  Here we are.  If you've found Chips in the Middle please go easy on us cause the site is probably still a bit of a mess.  We haven't actually launched yet and are still getting together both the basic site structure and our initial content.
